Thanks again to Ed G. (James' dad) for organizing our January den meeting and teaching the boys about communicating. They all had fund playing "Tell It Like It Isn't" and making their own "mobile" phones!
Before our next den meeting, everyone should practice listening and talking during a family meal (Achievement 4F) for the "How I Tell It" unit in the Tiger Handbook. Remember, our next event is our Go See It to WLKY tomorrow, Tuesday, January 17th, at 6:45 PM! Please arrive on-time and park in the visitor spots outside the gate or along the front drive. The boys may wear their uniforms to school.
We are now completing our last unit (Unit 4: "How I Tell It") before earning our Tiger Badges, which we'll hand out at the Blue and Gold Banquet in February. Remember, any of the achievements that you may have missed along the way can be made up on your own fairly quickly and easily. It's up to you to determine whether or not your son has fulfilled the objective of the achievements in a particular unit. So, if you are unable to do something on your own exactly as it is described in the handbook, the most important thing is to fulfill the spirit of the lesson or value that the achievement is trying to teach. (Please feel free to talk to me about making up the achievements, if you have any questions.)
You may also start earning Tiger Track beads by doing any of the 50 different electives in the back of the handbook. You'll earn one Tiger Track for every ten electives completed, and you may do any of the electives more than once. Keep a record of what you've done on the worksheet in the back of the handbook, and I'll be handing out Tiger Tracks at each of the upcoming meetings the rest of the year.
